Interview January 2018
Drinking a Turkish coffee with friends from former students of the Istanbul Conservatory.
Siento que una etapa de mi vida se ha ido, en mi se queda tristeza, soledad buscada, sencillez, capacidad de ver los aspectos de la vida sin juzgar a nadie. El amor universal, los sentimientos y las emociones que van más allá de la vida
I feel that a part of my life is gone, in me remains sadness, search for solitude, simplicity, ability to see aspects of life without judging anyone. Universal love, i feelings and emotions that go beyond life.
◊ Hello dear, we always remember you with affection and we read your publications, why do you feel sad and seek solitude?
I seek solitude when I can not listen to the silence, but the noise of people, who do not want to understand the truth of what happens every day in the world. Sad, because the more time passes, the more the values of life are forgotten.
◊ But then maybe do you became a pessimist?
Absolutely not, I am realistic, but with so much desire for hope, with patience and never giving in to cynicism, to ruthless indifference, reinforcing confidence in myself, continuing my journey safely in whatever situation presents itself.
◊ Speaking with you, we understand that you have always chosen the most difficult paths of your artistic career, why?
Because they gave me the opportunity to understand what life is really like, sacrifice, sacrifice, the joy of reaching and achieving my goals.
◊ Why do you often prefer to play in countries at risk and not in Europe? Are not you scared?
No, I’m not afraid, and sometimes I prefer countries at risk to defuse, the idea that in all Muslim countries there is only danger, it is absurd, it is a devastating Western pathology that requires healing, while becoming aware of where you go and how to behave in certain places in order to avoid problems.
◊ Your business has taken you to the most diverse locations in the world, what does these experiences left you?
A great spirit of adaptation, a lot of sensitivity towards world social problems, a multi-ethnic love, learning that one can be happy and content oneself with little.
◊ In this 2018 what would make you feel good?
Take a period away from the media, without cellphone and internet, stay in a healthy tranquility, giving me the company of nature, the murmur of the waves of the sea, listening to one voice: “that of seagulls”.
◊ Can you give us some advice to be more thoughtless?
Love each other, do not harbor feelings of jealousy, be humble but with self-esteem, always available to the weakest people in need. This is my most sincere advice, which I always put into practice with serenity.
◊ We know that you have a lot of faith, enough of us, but we do not always manage to pray, why do you think?
Prayer must be felt in the heart, in the soul and the mind in the moment in which one speaks with God, must be limpid, transparent like water, pure, devoid of negative influences. It is not difficult, it is very natural, more than you imagine.
◊ Returning to music, what is your favorite instrument after the piano?
It is the harp, my father gave me a small antique harp, I immediately fell in love, and even though I am no longer very young, I would love to have at least one approach with this marvelous musical instrument, comparable to the song of angels.
◊ What do you miss most currently?
The physical presence of many dear friends who live far from me, even if… if you love each other very well, you can be close to anywhere.
